Support to Launch the University of Mother Earth
The Earth Elders are launching the University of Mother Earth initiative, a network of 52 indigenous-led centers dedicated to teaching Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK). This project aims to foster ecological restoration through place-based learning. We seek $25,000 to establish the first center in Mexico, with a targeted start date of January 2025.

Empowering Next-Gen Youth Leaders with Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK). The University of Mother Earth aims to equip youth leaders with TEK practices for regenerating and restoring our relationship with the Earth. Indigenous communities, as living libraries of TEK, hold vital knowledge for protecting dwindling ecosystems. This center will serve as a training hub for local youth and global earth defenders, fostering ecological stewardship skills and creating partnerships with international academic institutions.
The first hub, University of the Forest, has been piloted in Brazil’s Amazon Rainforest, led by Chief Ninawa of the Huni Kuin and supported by the University of Victoria, proving the effectiveness of this model. www.universityoftheforest.org
Funds will support:
Infrastructure Development: Creating a sustainable learning space.
Curriculum Design: Implementing a place-based TEK curriculum.
Community Outreach: Partnering with local youth and ecological groups for active engagement.
By supporting this initiative, you will help research, design, and launch a place-based curriculum to preserve Traditional Ecological Knowledge and empower young ecological stewards. Thank you for being part of this journey to restore balance with the Earth.
