Fund the Field of Ocean Based Carbon Removal
The most impactful umbrella org in the ocean carbon removal space, Carbon to Sea, is advancing responsible, scalable ocean-based carbon removal (gigatons of potential), looking for co-funders!

The ocean could remove 10 billion tons of CO2 annually by 2050 through ocean alkalinity enhancement. We have an obligation to rapidly find out if and how we can harness ocean-based CDR safely and sustainably. Carbon to Sea Initiative is a nonprofit effort on the cutting edge of scientific exploration to determine how to unlock the oceans’ potential to mitigate climate change.
In early 2022, Carbon to Sea secured $50M from 10 funders, quickly becoming a leader in the field through grantmaking and direct initiatives. Since then, they’ve invested nearly $30M in top global scientists and technologists, while fostering responsible sector development alongside startups, VCs, governments, and local communities. Encouraged by promising results from labs, pilots, field research, and techno-economic analyses, they're now scaling up as the leading force in ocean-based CDR and are looking for funders to join them!
