Rights of Nature for the Ocean & Rivers: Place-Based Protections with Community Re-Grants
Join Earth Law Center in Hiring Two "Earth Lawyers" to Champion Nature's Rights in specific hotspots in USA, Canada, Chile, Peru, Nigeria, and the Pacific, with re-grants to local partners

Grant Wilson
Earth Law Center seeks support for two additional lawyers to win legal rights and a voice for the Ocean, rivers, and other ecosystems in strategic bioregions worldwide.
50% of all funding up to the requested amount will be dedicated to re-grants to community partners and lawyers in the regions we work.
For the Ocean, we seek legal rights for marine species such as Southern Resident Orcas, sea turtles, deep-sea species, and sharks, primarily in USA, Latin America, and the Pacific. We will also seek to secure corporate board seats for "the Ocean."
For rivers, we seek legal rights and guardianship bodies for the River Ethiope in Nigeria, the Biobio River in Chile, and the Elwha River in Washington State (USA), amongst others.
Funding goal is $125k for Oceans and $125k for Rivers, total: $250k.
