The Kahwatsi:re Historical Society, a volunteer-led organization, is committed to preserving and sharing the oral traditions and histories of the Mohawk people. Led by journalist and researcher Tom Kanatakeniate Cook, the society gathers genealogical records and stories to ensure this cultural heritage is accessible for future generations. Funding will enable the society to hold regional meetings, access research archives, and publish their findings, safeguarding the Mohawk community's legacy.
