Help fund the Harlem Clemente Course for the Humanities
This is our 12th year with this marvelous resource for the Harlem NYC community, harlemclemente.org, providing free college credit humanities courses taught by top professors, with free meals and childcare, full of love, brilliance and grit from our amazing students.

Harlem Clemente hosts about 35 students per year at the Manhattanville Community Center in Harlem, where they get 6 free college credits and study Philosophy (which I teach), Literature, Art History, Writing and Critical Thinking, and Political Science. It's an extraordinary group of mostly people of color who have had experiences of oppression, incarceration, addiction, as well as counseling others with these issues. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday nights - come visit. The program costs about $60k per year, most of which has been funded by us and friends and family. We'd like to make this program sustainable and long term, and would love to expand it.
