Empowering Cuba’s Indigenous Taino Families with Sustainable Solutions
Supporting Cultural Revival and Self-Sufficiency Through Solar Energy

Jose Barreiro /Hatueyael
In Cuba, the Indigenous Taino-Gran Familia, a community of over 30,000, is working to restore cultural traditions and food sovereignty amid declining state support. This initiative supports their journey toward resilience through sustainable agriculture and spiritual practices rooted in Taino Mother Earth principles.
The Need: We aim to equip 200 remote mountain homesteads across 12 Taino communities with solar energy for light and refrigeration. These essential resources will boost food security, healthcare, and quality of life, empowering the community's self-sufficiency.
How to Support: Your contribution directly enables Taino families to thrive sustainably, preserving their cultural heritage and advancing a self-sufficient future in Cuba.
GRANT FUNDING: $300,000
